I don’t know what caused me to jump off of a cliff and cut all my hair off.
What I do know is that I found myself, spur of the moment, in a seat at the salon. And when the stylist approached me, these words came out of my mouth “I want you to cut all my hair off”. After hemmmminnng and haawwwwinnng around, she suggested I cut it off to the chin, and go with heavy bangs. BUT, she said, it will look better in a rich dark brown color. “OK”, said I, as I proceeded to close my eyes and work on my board while she went to work on my hair.
Well, let’s just say that this is Shelly we are talking about. And of course, it turned into an adventure. The stylist sent me to the washing bowl too early, the color was just beginning to turn. Oooopps. Now instead of a beautiful chocolate brown, I end up with this bright brassy red.
Yep Yep Yep.
I will be writing a lot about the upcoming New Year in the next few weeks. But for now, I’ll just say that hopefully this drastic hair change will motivate me as I move into 2012 to settle into this new life, but also to go after things a little harder. Like seminary. Like a different work position. Like losing weight and working on my health. Like……………
I am a bit discouraged tonight. Hope is elusive. My hair is odd. Christmas is slim. And I’m so tired. But I will get up tomorrow morning to greet God, and then I’ll plow through another day.
Looking forward to watching this movie!!!!
